Hollywood icon Jack Nicholson spills the beans on a fascinating secret in an interview about the release of new editions of Chinatown and The Two Jakes.
The two movies, which featured Nicholson as the memorably seedy LA private investigator Jack Gittes, were designed to be part of a trilogy - but after the commercial failure of The Two Jakes in 1990, the third movie was shelved.
That's a great pity, because The Two Jakes is still a decent flick, despite a convoluted plot that runs way too long.
No such reservations about Chinatown, which still plays well. Both movies come in special collector's editions featuring great extra features. Check out my review of Chinatown.
